Incessant rain claims four lives in Banke

BANKE, July 2: Continuous rainfall since Sunday evening has claimed four lives, including two children in the district. According to the District Police Office, two locals have died in Baija Nath Rural Municipality and each killed in Kohalpur Municipality and Duduwa Rural Municipality.

BANKE, July 2: Continuous rainfall since Sunday evening has claimed four lives, including two children in the district. According to the District Police Office, two locals have died in Baija Nath Rural Municipality and each killed in Kohalpur Municipality and Duduwa Rural Municipality.


Police have identified the dead as Tularam Buda (65) of Baija Nath Rural Municipality-3 , Lok Bahadur Sunar (35) of Baija Nath Rural Municipality-5, Ranjeet Pasi (4) of Kohalpur Municipality-4 and Rima Kumari Yadav (4) of Duduwa Rural Muncipality-2. Police have discovered all dead bodies.

Dozens of houses  in Nepalgunj have been inundated due to monsoon which is taking place since Sunday night.


New Road, Sahid Setu BK Chowk, Gharbari have been waterlogged.  According to Krishna Prasad Shrestha, a local of New Road and central member of FNCCI, as many as 45 shops have been inundated.
