Four Indian nationals arrested in Kathmandu for kidnapping Chinese citizen

Police launched an investigation after receiving reports of the kidnapping. CCTV footage showed the suspects taking the Chinese national away in a vehicle with Indian license plates. The vehicle was later seized in Bhimphedi, and the Chinese victim was found in Pharping.

KATHMANDU, Jan 15:  Four Indian nationals were arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a Chinese citizen from Thamel, Kathmandu. The suspects, identified as Ashutosh Datreya, 33, Amol Kharmate, 30, Ashraf Yunus Sheikh, 40, and Ambas Srisat, 30, were detained in Bhimphedi, Makawanpur, while attempting to transport the victim to India.


Police launched an investigation after receiving reports of the kidnapping. CCTV footage showed the suspects taking the Chinese national away in a vehicle with Indian license plates. The vehicle was later seized in Bhimphedi, and the Chinese victim was found in Pharping.
