KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended his best wishes to all on the occasion of Maghe Sankranti, also known as Makar Sankranti, and Maghi festival.
PM Oli wished everyone on the occasion, taking to social media.

"Today is Maghe Sankranti. This is also the Maghi festival of the Tharu community in Tarai area. This day is also called Makar Sankranti as the Sun moves from the Tropic of Capricorn towards the Tropic of Cancer," the PM stated in his message.
In his message, the PM stated that the festival is marked by the tradition of consuming ghee, Chaku, yam, Khichdi and other delicacies.
