KATHMANDU, Nov 1: Police have arrested 13 people with suspected illegal drugs during routine patrols and security operations in different parts of the country.
Police also seized prescription medicines, Rs 20,200 in cash and a motorcycle from the suspects.
According to the Central Police Newsroom, the arrests were made on Friday and Saturday. Three people were arrested at two locations in Kathmandu, two each at separate locations in Jhapa and Sunsari, and one each in Parsa, Lamjung and Bardiya. Three others were arrested at two locations in Kailali.
In Kathmandu, police arrested 39-year-old Chhiring Sherpa of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-3, Sindhupalchok, from Chuchepati in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6 with 4.25 grams of a substance suspected to be brown sugar and Rs 20,200 in cash.

Two others were arrested from Jadibuti in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32 with 6.74 grams of a similar substance.
In Jhapa, police arrested 24-year-old Khadga Rajbanshi of Barhadashi Rural Municipality-2 and 25-year-old Chaitan Hemram of Ward No. 1 from Khayarbarhi in Jhapa Rural Municipality-5. They were found with 1.95 grams of suspected brown sugar.
In Parsa, police arrested 20-year-old Nima Lama Sherpa of Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality-2, Dhading, from the bus park area of Birgunj Metropolitan City-16. Police seized 27 ampoules of diazepam, 29 ampoules of Phenergan and 28 ampoules of buprenorphine.
In Kailali, 25-year-old Amar Bahadur Kunwar of Jorayal Rural Municipality-2, Doti, was arrested from a hotel room in Chatakpur, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-4, with 127 milligrams of suspected brown sugar.
Similarly, two people were arrested from Kusumghat in Bhajani Municipality-3 with 1.05 grams of suspected brown sugar. Police also seized a motorcycle used by one of the suspects, Roshan Sarki.
In Lamjung, police arrested 30-year-old Sujan Tamang of Besisahar Municipality-8 from Deuralidanda in Besisahar Municipality-1. He was carrying 10 ampoules each of diazepam, buprenorphine and Phenergan.
In Sunsari, 34-year-old Deepak Pariyar of Duhabi Municipality-3 and 32-year-old Bal Bahadur Thapa of Belaka Municipality-3, Udayapur, were arrested from Laukahi Kerabari in Koshi Rural Municipality-1 with 2.17 grams of suspected brown sugar.
In Bardiya, police arrested 21-year-old Sushil Pariyar of Kohalpur Municipality-9, Banke, from the Karnali Bridge area in Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-7 with 2.71 grams of suspected brown sugar.
