The festival is also marked by the consumption of traditional delicacies such as ghee, molasses, yam, sesame seed sweets, sel roti, and khichadi, and spending quality time with family.
President Paudel emphasized that celebrating such unique and culturally rich festivals helps connect Nepal’s cultural and ethnic diversity, contributing to the construction of a shared Nepali identity. He added that these celebrations play a vital role in presenting Nepal to the world.
The President expressed confidence that festivals like Maghe Sankranti, celebrated in Nepal's multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multi-cultural society, strengthen fraternity, mutual harmony, and tolerance among Nepalis, thereby further consolidating national unity.
