Dahal on Tatopani border opening: It won’t happen without China's initiative

While the crossing has partially opened, Dahal said that it hasn't fully met the expectations of the people in Sindhupalchowk. He also said that during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s visit to China, an agreement was made for road improvements, particularly on the Araniko Highway, which has suffered damage from earthquakes and floods.

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the full reopening of the Tatopani border crossing in Sindhupalchowk depends on the Chinese government taking the initiative. Dahal emphasized that he has directly communicated with Chinese President Xi Jinping three times, both as Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition, to push for the border's complete reopening.


While the crossing has partially opened, Dahal said that it hasn't fully met the expectations of the people in Sindhupalchowk. Dahal, who was in Sukute for the inauguration of the national beach volleyball tournament, instructed the Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, Keshav Kumar Sharma, to prioritize the road's maintenance.
