KATHMANDU, Jan 15: The detention hearing of RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, allegedly involved in the Swarnalaxmi Cooperative fraud case, continued today. Following arguments from government and public prosecutors on Monday, senior advocates Sushil Pant and Raman Shrestha, both former attorneys general, put forward their arguments on Wednesday, defending Lamichhane’s release.
The courtroom has now been adjourned for lunch.

Lamichhane, who was previously released on bail by the Kaski District Court, appeared in court on Sunday to record his statement in a separate case filed against him in Kathmandu. The case is being heard by the bench of Judge Madhav Prasad Adhikari.
Public prosecutors have argued for his continued detention, citing concerns that evidence could be destroyed.
