KATHMANDU, Sept 20: The 9th Constitution Day is being celebrated by organizing various programs across the country today.
The Constitution Day marks the promulgation of the constitution written by the people's representatives through the Constituent Assembly on Ashoj 3, 2072 BS.

The present constitution is the seventh written constitution of Nepal which aims at establishing socialism through citizen's socioeconomic and cultural rights. It bears special significance for it was promulgated through the constituent assembly based on Janaandolan II, Comprehensive Peace Accord and peace process.
