KATHMANDU, August 21: Father’s Day has been celebrated with gusto across the country on Monday.
“If someone takes a holy shower, keeping mum, early in the morning today, it will be equivalent to donating as many as 1,000 cows,” said Professor Dr. Dev Mani Bhattarai, head at the Department of Theology under Nepal Sanskrit University Balmiki Bidyapith, citing Hemadri scripture.

Similarly, people offer annual tributes in memory of their departed fathers and provide presents and delicious foods to the living ones.
Devotees thronged Gokarneshwar to observe this festival, offering tributes to their departed fathers. Since there is a fair in Gokarneshwar on the occasion of Kuse Aunsi, it is also known as Gokarneshwar Aunsi.
