COVID-19 updates: 6,080 recoveries, 116 deaths reported in Nepal on Saturday

KATHMANDU, May 29: The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed as many as 4,487 new cases of COVID-19 infection out of 14,752 samples tested in the past 24 hours.

KATHMANDU, May 29: The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed as many as 4,487 new cases of COVID-19 infection out of 14,752 samples tested in the past 24 hours. Among the samples tested, 14,006 were tested through the PCR method while 746 antigen tests were carried out. With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 553,422.


Also, 116 people died of the COVID-19 infection in the past 24 hours, taking the death tally to 7,163 in Nepal since May 16, 2020 when the first death due to the viral infection was reported in the country.

Meanwhile, 6,080 people recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the country’s recovery rate to 78.6 percent. So far, 434,750 people have recovered from COVID-19 with 111,509 active cases of COVID-19 infection in the country.
