KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Nepal recorded 3,540 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday along with 6,540 recoveries and 32 deaths (this includes 12 deaths lately reported from Shree Birendra Hospital and 20 deaths of the past four days), according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 13,145 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 3,049 PCR and 491 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.
India logs 6,984 new COVID-19 cases, 247 deaths in last 24 hrs
There are currently 84,335 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 82,369 are in self-isolation, 1,630 in institutional isolation, 285 in ICUs, and 51 on ventilators. Similarly, 139 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,735 people have died of the viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 1,778 cases of the virus on Sunday. Of them, 1,232 were recorded in Kathmandu, 167 in Bhaktapur, and 379 in Lalitpur districts.
