KATHMANDU, July 29: Nepal recorded 577 new cases of COVID-19 along with 269 recoveries and two deaths from the virus on Friday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population.
As many as 4,282 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 391 PCR and 186 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.

There are currently 4,356 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,203 are in self-isolation, 153 in institutional isolation, 34 in ICUs and five on ventilators. So far, 11,964 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 280 cases of COVID-19 on Friday. Among them, 212 were reported in Kathmandu, 54 in Lalitpur and 14 in Bhaktapur districts.
