KATHMANDU, August 20: Nepal recorded 577 recoveries and 299 new cases of COVID-19 infection on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 4,337 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Of them, 180 PCR and 119 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.

With the recovered number exceeding the new cases, the active cases of COVID-19 has dropped to 4,625.
According to the MoHP, two individuals died of the coronavirus during the period. So far, 11,992 people have died from the virus across the country.
