Gandaki Provincial Assembly lawmaker Binod KC, Assistant Chief District Officer of Myagdi Mahesh Subedi and Chairperson of Beni Hospital Development Committee Dr Manoj Ghimire were among those present when the 21-year old youth from Swata Village of Beni Municipality-4 was sent home after successful recovery.

The youth, who returned home from Haridwar, India a few weeks ago,  said that he is at the cloud nine right now. Thanking the government for the excellent arrangements made at the isolation ward, he stated that the victory over coronavirus became possible due to the support he received from all the people.

“I feel great. Now I am free of corona and this is a result of everyone’s great support,” said the 21-yeard old youth. “Even though I was the only person in the isolation ward, I did not feel any difficulties,” he added.

He was kept at an isolation ward set up at an educational training center situated in Beni-- the district headquarter of Myagdi district. A 30-year-old man, who also came from India, had first tested positive for COVID-19 in Myagdi. So far, 48 people have tested positive in the district and all of them have recovered successfully and returned home.

“Our record is not bad. People have recovered and there are no new cases for now,” said a member of the COVID19 Control District Command Post Surat KC. “But we should continue to expand the scope of testing,” he added.
