COVID-19 Udayapur: 13 new cases, 22 recoveries and 2 deaths

UDAYAPUR, June 7: As many as 13 people including four women have been infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours in Udayapur district. With this, the numbers of infection in the district have reached 1,131 out of which 508 are women, while 623 are men.

UDAYAPUR, June 7: As many as 13 people including four women have been infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours in Udayapur district. With this, the numbers of infection in the district have reached 1,131 out of which 508 are women, while 623 are men. Among the newly-infected, four are from Katari Municipality, eight from Triyuga Municipality and one other from Belaka Municipality. 


Also, 22 people including 10 women have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The total number of recovered patients in the district have reached 328 including 142 women. According to the district health office,  133 residents of Triyuga Municipality including 53 women have recovered from COVID-19. Similarly, 16 people including six women from Katari, 89 people including 38 women from Chaudandigadi, and 43 people including 23 women from Belaka have returned to their respective homes after recovering from the infectious disease.

Likewise, 30 people from Limchungbung Rural Municipality, 10 from Rautamai, six from Udayapurgadhi and one woman from Tapli Municipality have also recovered from COVID-19. 


According to the health office, 239 infected people are currently undergoing treatment in Triyuga Municipality, 135 in Belaka Municipality, 124 in Chaudandigadhi Municipality and 118 in Katari Municipality. Similarly, 82 patients are undergoing treatment in Rautamai Municipality, 68 in Limchungbung Municipality, 47 in Udayapurgadhi Municipality and 11 people in Talpi Rural Municipality. 


According to Umesh Luitel, statistics officer at the district health office, the infected patients of the district are undergoing treatment in Gaighat Municipality, Udayapur COVID Hospital in Beltar, Dharan, Biratnagar while some are staying isolated in their respective homes..


As many as two people have died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in Udayapur district. According to the district health office, a 57-year-old woman from Chaudandigadhi-7 died on Saturday while undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at the Provincial COVID Hospital in Biratnagar. Also, a 39-year-old male from Triyuga-13 breathed his last on Sunday while undergoing treatment at the BP Institute of Health Science in Dharan. With this, the death tally from COVID-19 in Udayapur district has reached 44.
