Sticking to a schedule
Don’t allow yourself to become so comfortable with unemployment that your days start to run together. Treat your job search like your full-time job, and make the best use of your time during business hours. Set your alarm, get up to shower and dress for the day, and then get down to business.
Eating healthy
A poor diet contributes to depression and lethargy, so make sure you’re eating healthfully. Eat substantial meals with a balance of carbohydrates, protein and fat, and take in lots of fruits and vegetables. Take a daily multivitamin to fill in nutritional gaps, and drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration and fatigue.

Sleep is an essential component of health but is sadly one of the first things to go when you’re under stress. Don’t allow yourself to become too exhausted; set a timer if you need to. Log out, turn off the computer and get some sleep. You’ll be much more productive when you’re well-rested and refreshed.
Getting some sun
A few minutes outside in the sun works amazingly well to fend off seasonal depression, and it also gives your body a much-needed boost of energy and vitamin D. Even if it’s chilly outside, bundle up and take a short walk.
Saying thank you
It’s always a smart idea to follow up with hiring managers after an interview by sending a thank-you note. But sending a thank-you note to a friend or family member who has supported you in your job search can really help lift your spirits. It reminds you of the strong support system you have and helps you reconnect on a personal level.
Volnteering
If you’re feeling restless and underutilized during your job search, lend your services at a local soup kitchen or animal shelter. Giving back to the community makes you feel good and gives you a great reason to get out of the house.
