DHADING, Oct 19: GMR Construction Nepal Pvt Ltd has completed the upgradation of the Naubishe-Nagdhunga road section of the Prithvi Highway.
According to Rishi Pandey, deputy contractor at GMR Construction, the company has completed fixing the potholes from Piplamode to Naubishe along the highway. GMR Construction had received the contract to upgrade the road section from Piplamode to Naubishe. The highway is often damaged as loaded trucks ply the road section.
Chinese team starts upgradation work
“The company has completed the work within six days. The upgradation work was carried out for three days before Dashain, and three days after the festival, Pandey said. The upgradation was halted before Dashain due to massive traffic jam along the road.
Likewise, the Department of Roads (DoR), Kathmandu, is also upgrading the Piplamode-Nagdhunga-Kalanki road section of the highway. The road section is being blacktopped by blocking vehicular movement of one lane.
Meanwhile, police officials have been mobilized at the road section to carry out upgradation more smoothly. Likewise, the DoR has also started expanding the bends on the road. With the expansion of the bends, traffic congestion along the road has also eased.
