KATHMANDU, Oct 29: The Beni-Jomsom-Korla road section, which is considered the lifeline of Gandaki Province, will be closed for 10 hours daily from Friday until further notice for its upgradation works.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Kumar Rai said that vehicles are required to stop at Kavrebhir of Annapurna Rural Municipality-3 Dana of Myagdi on the border of Mustang to upgrade the road.
Chinese team starts upgradation work
DSP Rai said the road will be upgraded daily by stopping the operation of vehicles from 7 to 11 in the morning and from 1 to 5 in the afternoon. Similarly, the road will be open from 7 PM to 7 AM and from 11 PM to 1 PM each day.
Officials said they would provide necessary assistance to stop large vehicles in the area around Rupse and create an environment for pedestrians to reach their destination from Pari.
Kavrevir Beni-Jomsom road is a risky road and the road is being widened using explosives every year with the help of the Nepal Army. The Beni-Jomsom-Korla Road Project under the national pride project of Kaligandaki Corridor. The construction of the 76-kilometer corridor that connects India and China has accelerated recently. The construction of Beni-Jomsom-Korla road project costing around Rs 6 billion started in 2017 A.D.
