ILAM, Nov 22: Top leader of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Jhalnath Khanal is behind the CPN-UML candidate by 776 votes.

A total of 13,081 votes were counted as of 8 am Tuesday. UML candidate Mahesh Basnet got 5,626 votes, while Khanal was trailing with 4,850 votes. From the beginning of the vote counting, Khanal is trailing behind UML candidate Basnet.
Buddhalal Meche of Mongol National Organization got 671 votes. A total of 59,136 of the total 119,535 have been cast in Ilam-1.
