One dies of Dengue in Khotang

KHOTANG, Aug 9: Jeet Bahadur Rohila, 36, of Damarkhu Shivalaya Rural Municipality-4, Khotang, has died of dengue fever.

KHOTANG, Aug 9: Jeet Bahadur Rohila, 36, of Damarkhu Shivalaya Rural Municipality-4, Khotang, has died of dengue fever. After being severely sick, Rohilla was taken to the Biratnagar-based Birat Nursing Home and then transferred to Koshi Zonal Hospital. He died after he was returned to his home. 


Rahila, according to his relatives, was taken to the hospital a week ago but due to the shortage of money he had to return home in the middle of his treatment from the hospital. Ram Bahadur Rohilla, a local said after he fell sick his examination at the hospital showed virus of dengue in his body.

Dengue that spread all over Dharan was found in the hilly regions has made locals panic.


Pawan Pokharel, Health Coordinator of the rural municipality, said they suspect Rohila died of dengue. Since the deceased was also suffering from a kidney related disease, the municipality wants to verify the cause of death.


“We had recommended for his treatment after problem was seen in his kidneys,” Pokharel added “Direct contact with Dharan has serious risk. We are alert regarding it. Test kits are also arriving.”
