NOC to support quake hit sportspersons

KATHMANDU, May 5: Internationally recognized Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) has announced relief to sportsperson effected by April 25 earthquake that took lives of more than 8,000 and injured more than 14,000 across the country.

A press release issued by NOC President Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan on Monday stated that NOC will provide Rs 25,000 as an immediate relief to the family member of deceased players who participated in the Olympic, Para-olympic, South Asian and Asian Games


The NOC has also decided to provide same amount to the sports journalist and member of sports association and coaches who lost their lives during last week's devastating earthquake.

It has also decided to provide foods stock sufficient for one month the earthquake hit sportsperson whose shelter has been damaged. Moreover, the NOC has also decided to coordinate at the international level to normalize the life of sportsperson and take initiation for their resettlement.

It has also announced to provide sports kits at different camps to make people stress-free.
