TAPLEJUNG, Jan 15: In the first six months of the current fiscal year, Pathibhara Temple in Taplejung has received more than Rs 13 million in offerings from over 100,000 devotees. According to the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, a total of 106,623 pilgrims visited the temple from mid-July to mid-January.
Santosh Purkuti, the IT Field Coordinator for the Committee, reported that Rs 13,24,456 was collected during this period. Offerings are counted monthly at the committee office, with strict surveillance via CCTV and police presence.

The highest number of visitors was recorded in the month of Kartik (mid-October to mid-November), with 61,173 pilgrims. Other months saw varying numbers, with 21,180 visitors in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December), 9,939 in Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September), 6,427 in Poush (mid-December to mid-January), 5,949 in Ashoj (mid-September to mid-October), and 1,955 in Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August). Despite some disruptions in Ashoj due to floods, visitor numbers increased in Kartik compared to last year.
The Pathibhara Area Development Committee said that winter did not significantly reduce visitor numbers this year, with clear weather and reduced cold enticing more visitors. The temple sees peak visits during Bada Dashain, Tihar, Ram Nawami, and Chaite Dashain, with expectations for an overall increase in visitors this fiscal year.
