Real estate transactions sees rise by 9.45 in Poush

The government gets revenue from various sources such as service tax, registration fees, capital gains tax, and others in the real estate sector. Among these, the highest revenue is obtained from registration fees and capital gains tax.

KATHMANDU, Jan 15: Real estate transactions enjoyed improvement in the month of Poush (mid-December to mid-January) of the current fiscal year 2024/25.


According to the data of the Department of Land Management and Archive (DoLMA), there were 47,479 real estate transactions across the country in Poush, reflecting a 9.45 percent increase compared to the previous month. The DoLMA’s data shows that 43,379 transactions occurred in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December).


The real estate transactions have increased by 4.86 percent in the month of Poush this year compared to last year’s. In the month of Poush of last year, 45,275 houses were bought and sold across the country.

Revenue has also increased with the increase in real estate transactions. In Poush, the government has received Rs 4.63 billion in revenue, marking as Rs 1 billion more than the previous month. Revenue has increased by 44 percent this year compared to the previous year. Last year, the government received Rs 3.20 billion in revenue from real estate transactions in Poush.
