KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Revenue collection in the Nepali month of Magh (mid-December to mid-January) fell compared to the month of Poush (mid-January to mid-February) despite an overall improvement in real estate transactions across the country.
The Department of Land Management and Archive (DoLMA) reported that real estate transactions generated Rs 3.87 billion in revenue in Magh. In Poush, revenue had reached Rs 4.25 billion, while in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December), it stood at Rs 3.87 billion.

Data from the first seven months of the current fiscal year indicate a slight increase in revenue collection. Compared to the same period last fiscal year, revenue has risen by nearly 14 percent. By mid-February, total revenue had reached Rs 24.71 billion.
During the same period last fiscal year, revenue stood at Rs 21.65 billion. Authorities approved 46,050 land transaction documents in Magh, slightly lower than the 48,156 approved in Poush.
Among the nine land revenue offices in the Kathmandu Valley, the Land Reform and Revenue Office in Lagankhel collected the highest revenue at Rs 337.4 million.
The Dillibazar Land Revenue Office followed with Rs 269.2 million, while the Kalanki Land Revenue Office collected Rs 260.1 million. The Chabahil Land Revenue Office recorded Rs 208 million in revenue, and the Bhaktapur Land Revenue Office collected Rs 244.2 million, according to the DoLMA.
