KATHMANDU, Dec 21: The recently-appointed Justices of the Supreme Court (SC) assumed their office after taking the oath of office and secrecy today.

Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha administered the oath during a special ceremony held at Sital Niwas this afternoon. President Ram Chandra Poudel was present on the occasion.


The Judicial Council had previously proposed the names of Saranga Subedi, Abdul Aziz Muslim, Mahesh Sharma Poudel, Tek Prasad Dhungana, Sunil Pokharel, and Bal Krishna Dhakal for the justices of the country’s apex court. The nominations received endorsement from the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, paving the way for their official appointment to the SC.
