KATHMANDU, Sept 29: First K Bag Mua Thai Championship is set to be held in Kathmandu on Friday and Saturday. Nepal National Mua Thai Association and K Bag Sports Private Limited are jointly organizing the event at the Dasharath Stadium covered hall, Tripureshwar.    

Organizing a press conference on Thursday, organizers informed that the martial arts event will feature competitions in five weight categories including men's 50-55 kg, 55-60 kg, 60-65 kg, 65-70 kg (professional) and women's 50-55 kg. 



“This tournament is open for all martial arts players in all categories and will be played under Mua Thai rule,” said Ganesh Lal Kakshapati, president of Nepal National Mua Thai Association. 



The organizers are expecting participation of 40 players from Kathmandu Valley, Kavre, Chitwan and Pokhara. Players finishing in the top three positions in men's 50-55 kg, 55-60 kg, 60-65 kg and women's 50-55 kg events will be awarded with Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively. Similarly, the top three players of the 65-70 kg (professional) event will bag Rs 50,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 7500 respectively. The total budget of the tournament is estimated to be Rs 500,000.
