Flood flattens four houses, blocks road

MYAGDI, May 14: Flash flood swept away four houses at Bhurung Tatopani town of Annapurna Rural Municipality in Myagdi district on Sunday evening.

MYAGDI, May 14: Flash flood swept away four houses at Bhurung Tatopani town of Annapurna Rural Municipality in Myagdi district on Sunday evening. 


Heavy rain blocked a rivulet above the town triggering the flood. Three more houses at the locality suffered partial damage due to the flood.

Similarly, the flood water gushed into three shops causing damage. Some hotels and houses in the town have also been inundated. 


Torrential rain occurred for about one and a half hours since 3 pm on Sunday, causing a flash flood in the rivulet, the police post at Bhurung Tatopani stated. 


Mudslides and deposition of debris carried by streams on the road following the heavy rain has blocked the Beni-Jomsom road at many locations, it is learnt. 


Travellers and tourists going to Mustang and Muktinath on a visit have been inconvenienced due to the road blockage. RSS
