KATHMANDU, March 20: Nepali National Cricket Team player Kushal Malla has been honored by Butwal Sub Metropolitan City.
The sub-metropolis honored Malla with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 during a ceremony on Monday.
Mayor Khelraj Pandey said that Malla is a resident of Butwal and has contributed to increasing Butwal's identity at the national and international levels through the sport.

Apart from cricket, football and other sports, Butwal's players have made a name for themselves at the national level as well. Mayor Pandey said that more than 30 million have been allocated in the budget of the current financial year for the development of the sports sector.
"The sub-metropolis has given priority to encouraging players who play for the country and develop sports infrastructure," said Pandey.
The sub-metropolitan city also honored former cricketer and Kushal Malla's coach Shakti Gauchan and Kushal's mother Sharmila Malla.
Kushal is a permanent resident of Butwal-11 Devinagar.
