BMW India wins Padmodaya volleyball

CHITWAN, March 9 : BMW Team, India claimed the title of the Padmodaya International Invitational Men’s Volleyball Tournament beating Nepal Police Club on 3-1 sets at Patihani, Chitwan on Wednesday.
Champion BMW bagged Rs 150,000, while runner-up Police pocketed Rs 100,000.
In the final played on best of five sets, BMW claimed the first set 25-22. However, Police bounced back to claim the second set 25-17.
Nevertheless, BMW took the third and fourth sets comfortably scoring 25-16 and 25-21 to win the title.
This is the second defeat for Police in the final of volleyball competitions within a month.
On February 26, Police had lost the final match of the CoAS First National Open Men’s Vollebyall Tournament against Tribhuvan Army Club.
Meanwhile, Armed Police Force (APF) Club claimed third position in the tournament beating Water Development Board, Bangladesh on 3-1 sets and bagged Rs 50,000.
BMW’s spiker Shuvan was adjudged the best player of the tournament and received Rs 25,000.
Similarly, Pushpa Jung Malla of APF was declared the best libero, Sanjay Aryal and Im Rana of Police were the best blocker and best lifter respectively, while Sanny of BMW was announced the best server. Each of them received Rs 5,000.
