Fake receipts for govt employees an ache in Khotang

KHOTANG, Dec 2:  Government employees riding state owned motorbikes in Khotang have been found to submit fake bike mentanance receipts from different motocycle workshops of Diktel, Halesi and Mahure.

KHOTANG, Dec 2:  Government employees riding state owned motorbikes in Khotang have been found to submit fake bike mentanance receipts from different motocycle workshops of Diktel, Halesi and Mahure.     


Employees have forced workshop owners to charge as much as twice the actual bill. Fake bills are produced for even petty maintenance. “Employees force us to charge twice the actual amount,” a workshop owner in condition of anomity said adding that even Ward Secretary and Ward Chairman asked for forged bills.  “If we don’t give them false bills, they become angry."

In lack of monitoring mechanisms, government employees have increasingly started to use forged bills for motorcycle maintainence and mobil change. 


“Misusing state coffer must be stopped and authorities must increase monitoring of where state’s money is being spent,” the source said.
