KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Officials at the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) confirmed 1,217 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Thursday.
As many as 774 males and 443 females were diagnosed with the disease through the 7,232 real time PCR tests carried out in the past 24 hours, according to the MoHP. This has taken the total tally of COVID-19 infections to 245,650.

As of Thursday afternoon, as many as 231,601 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the viral infection which accounts for 94.2 percent of the total confirmed cases.
Similarly, Nepal’s COVID-19 mortality tally has reached 1,663 as 12 more patients succumbed to this disease in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley confirmed 404 new cases of the disease. The valley, where Nepal’s federal capital lies, has so far witnessed a total of 114,409 cases of the disease including 658 deaths.
