APF, Police into semis

KATHMANDU, June 7: Armed Police Force (APF) Club and Nepal Police Club have secured their places in the semifinals of the ongoing RBB NVA National Women Club League Volleyball Championship at matches played in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, June 7: Armed Police Force (APF) Club and Nepal Police Club have secured their places in the semifinals of the ongoing RBB NVA National Women Club League Volleyball Championship at matches played in Kathmandu on Wednesday.



APF defeated Padmodaya Youth Club in the sets of 25-11, 25-16, 20-25, 25-5 to qualify for the semis with two games in hand. Similarly, Police made it three wins in four games to secure their spot in the semis.

Police defeated Jawalakhel Volleyball Youth Club and Padmodaya in straight sets of 25-7, 25-9, 25-11 and 25-12, 25-16, 25-16 respectively to win both the matches on the day.


In other matches of the day, New Shivam Diamond overcame departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club in the straight set of 25-21, 25-14, 25-18. It was their second win of the competition after losing to Police and defeating Jawalakhel earlier in the competition.


Both APF and New Shivam will play each other as well as Jawalakhel and Padmodaya respectively in scheduled matches on Thursday. Army is also scheduled to take on Police for potential table topping clash.
