41 Tibetans arrested from Dhangadhi

DHANGADDHI, Nov 14: Police on Monday arrested 41 Tibetans in Dhagadhi while they were heading to India via the route of Nepal.

DHANGADI, Nov  Police on Monday arrested 41 Tibetans from Dhangadhi while the latter were trying to cross over to India illegally.


The district police office has sent all the arrested Tibetans to the Department of Immigration, Kathmandu for further investigation and necessary legal actions, informed SP Rajendra Bista.

According to him, the Tibetans who were heading for India from Kathmandu by a public bus were caught by police on the way. He said that they were travelling to India to visit various Buddhist shrines.


“They had no identification documents and travel documents,” he said, adding that the bus driver Ken Tung Tashi informed that he was Tibetan and all the 41 arrested were also Tibetans and they were travelling to India to visit Varanasi, Kushinagar, Bodh Gaya, among other places.
