US Department of State honors SP Bajracharya

BHAKTAPUR, July 2: The US Department of State has awarded Chief at the metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, Superintendent of Police, Kiran Bajracharya, with 2016 Hero Acting to End Modern Slavery Award.

BHAKTAPUR, July 2: The US Department of State has awarded Chief at the metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, Superintendent of Police, Kiran Bajracharya, with 2016 Hero Acting to End Modern Slavery Award. 



At a program organized at the US Department of State on Friday, SP Bajracharya told the National News Agency (RSS) that the certificate was presented declaring her as 2016 Hero against human trafficking. 



The US Department of State presented the award to Bajracharya during the release of 2016 Trafficking in persons (TIP) report. 



The Department of State presents the award the persons every year for their involvement against human trafficking during the release of TIP report. 



Bajracharya had become successful to arrest an organized gang of human traffickers during her stay at Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) for around two years and launching public awareness campaign against human trafficking. 



Joining the police service in 2052 BS, she is now chief at the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur. 

Before this, Charimaya Tamang of Shakti Samuha and Judge Tek Narayan Kunwar, among other have already been honored with this award. RSS
