Govt urged to set up provincial investment board

MAKAWANPUR, April 23: Stakeholders have urged the government to set up provincial investment board to prioritize the development of the provinces in the new federal setup.

MAKAWANPUR, April 23: Stakeholders have urged the government to set up provincial investment board to prioritize the development of the provinces in the new federal setup. 


Speaking at an interaction organized by the Investment Board of Nepal (IBN) on Sunday, they said organization like the board should be established in the provincial level to develop the provinces in a planned manner.

At the function, Dinesh Shrestha, president of Makawanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, urged the government to work in partnership with the private sector to ensure prosperity as envisioned in the federal government's priorities. 


Dormani Poudel, chief minister of Province 3, urged all the stakeholders to support the provincial government in formulating investment-friendly laws. “I urge all the investors to invest without fear,” said Poudel adding, “The government will ensure security and protection to the industries. We will do all possible works including formation of provincial investment board.” 


IBN Chief Executive Officer Maha Prasad Adhikari said that the government is working to set up provincial investment board in all provinces.
