Govt gives the nod for removal of 4,345 trees for KTM-Terai Fast Track

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: The government has granted approval to initiate tree removal within the national forest area to facilitate the construction of the road segment of the Kathmandu Terai Expressway.

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: The government has granted approval to initiate tree removal within the national forest area to facilitate the construction of the road segment of the Kathmandu Terai Expressway.

Minister for Communications, Rekha Sharma, said that a cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to allow the utilisation of 40,000.21 hectares of national forest land in Bara and Makwanpur districts for the fast track.


With this decision, 4,345 trees within the specified forested areas will be cut down to build the expressway.
