KATHMANDU, June 25: The government on Sunday appointed Nahakul Subedi as the registrar general of the Supreme Court.
The latest amendment bill on the Supreme Court Act had envisaged that the Supreme Court administration would be led by a registrar general. As per the provision, the government appointed Subedi on the position as recommended by Judicial Service Commission. Subedi becomes the first person to hold the position of registrar general

Subedi was the Secretary at the Judicial Council and he had served the Supreme Court administration for a long period as the joint registrar.
The Supreme Court had been asking the government to make necessary arrangements for creating the post of registrar general at the Supreme Court since long. As per the demand, the Supreme Court Act was amended with the provision.
