RATNANAGAR, Aug 11: The District Public Health Office has distributed the medicated nets to 3,303 pregnant women through different 26 health organizations in Chitwan district.
The DPHO vector controller Ram Kumar KC informed that the nets were provided to the women after identification of the pregnancy and their registration in the governmental health organizations in various parts of the district.

KC added that the main objective of distributing the nets was to protect the pregnant women from the possible infection of malaria.
As many as 15 people were infected by malaria in the district last fiscal year. The government has launched different program targeting to eradicate the malaria from the country by 2026.
