KATHMANDU, Jan 14: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has appealed to the Supreme Court (SC), saying it is not satisfied with the verdict of the special court in the corruption case involving the defendant Shyam Kishore Rai.
The special court had ruled that the decision of the commission was not legal in the context of the misuse of government funds in the construction of the incomplete Ram Janaki Temple in Kabilasi Municipality-8, Sarlahi. Similarly, the commission has appealed to SC, not being satisfied with the verdict of the special court in the corruption case involving the defendant Sachin Kumar Bhadaiswar. The special court had ruled in Bhadaiswar's case on April 7, 2024.
The commission has been regularly appealing to the SC in recent days, claiming it is not satisfied with the special court’s verdict. The commission's spokesperson, Narahari Ghimire, informed that the commission appealed against three verdicts made by the special court on Monday alone.
