FNCSI holds orientation program
KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI) on Monday organized an orientation program to its members on Nepal Business License e-Portal.
On the occasion, the federation members were informed that the e-Portal, www.licenseportal.gov.np, is the one-stop site through which aspirant entrepreneurs can access detailed information on relevant business law, procedures for registering the firms, cost incurred in registering and doing the business, application forms and contact details for relevant regulatory agencies, among others.
They were briefed that with the portal, they can now register the firms and move ahead with their business plans by using the portal remaining at home.
The portal hosted, operated and managed by National Information Technology Center (NITC) was launched on August 15, 2012 as part of the government initiatives to improve investment climate in the country. SouthAsia Enterprise Development Facility, managed by IFC in partnership with the UK government and Norad, had supported the automation.
Smart Cell gives away prizes
KATHMANDU: Smart Cell, a rural telecom operator, has handed over a scooter to Chet Bahadur Kumal of Mirikot -- the bumper prize winner under its campaign ´International Incoming Call´. The scheme, which was launched on October 15, had concluded last week. "Today, Smart Cell is a family of more than 500,000 members and this family is increasing every day. This scheme was launched to thank all our members who helped us reach this milestone and also bring their family members closer,” CEO of the company Subhas Bajracharya said in a statement on Monday.
UTL awards winners of festive scheme
KATHMANDU : UTL Nepal, a private telecom operator, has awarded Bajaj Discover Motorcycle to the winner of its festive offer, a press statement of the company said on Monday. S P Pachauri, CEO of UTL Nepal, handed over the prize to the winner at a special ceremony on Monday. Similarly, the winner of the second prize received a Philips LED TV. It also awarded csutomers recharging the highest amount on weekly basis with various gift hampers. “We have been organizing various events to increase our intimacy with customers,” the statement quoted Pachauri as saying in the program.
NFTA AGM concludes
KATHMANDU : Traders have expressed concerned over Nepal´s widening trade deficit. They also complained about deteriorating environment for economic activities in the country. Lok Manya Golchha, former president of NFTA, inaugurated the meeting on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, NFTA President Ashok Kumar Agrawal demanded that the government create investment friendly environment in the country to bring down the country´s yawning trade deficit. Traders also blamed prolonged energy crisis and frequent labor unrest behind slowing economic activities in the country.
