Born in Matihari of Bihar, Bikash Jaiswal was 18 years of age when he came to Kathmandu in search of work. The 25-year-old is a tailor and works at a T-shirt shop in Thamel.

Born in Matihari of Bihar, Bikash Jaiswal was 18 years of age when he came to Kathmandu in search of work. The 25-year-old is a tailor and works at a T-shirt shop in Thamel.



Earlier, he used to work as a trekking guide. Bikash quit his studies after Grade VIII due to lack of interest. He goes to visit his family in India every three to four months and also makes sure to send them a part of his savings.

“For now, life is all about working for me. I have been working really hard to earn some decent money, but I have no time at all to have some fun.” Bikash thinks Kathmandu is a much better place to live as it has pleasant climate and decent working conditions.
