KATHMANDU, Nov 17: The government has spent far more than it has earned in the first four months (mid-July to mid-November) of the current fiscal year 2024/2025.
According to data maintained by the Financial Comptroller General Office, the government has made an income of Rs 329.1 billion during the four months of the current fiscal year, which is 22.36 percent of the annual target

The government received this income through revenue and other sources. The government has not received any grants in the last four months. In the current fiscal year, the government has set a target to receive Rs 52.32 billion in grants.
During the first four months of the current fiscal year, the government expenditure, however, has reached Rs 415 billion. The government has made a recurrent expenditure of Rs 292.52 billion from mid-July to mid-November. During this period, capital expenditure amounted to Rs 34.53 billion and Rs 87.96 billion was spent on financial arrangements.
