Eleven injured in two accidents

UDAYAPUR, Aug 6: At least seven persons were injured when an ambulance met with an accident in Triyuga municipality in Udayapur on Tuesday morning.

UDAYAPUR, Aug 6: At least seven persons were injured when an ambulance met with an accident in Triyuga municipality in Udayapur on Tuesday morning.


The ill-fated ambulance (Me 1 Cha 661) was en route to Udayapur from Jhapa met with an accident at Chure forest when the driver lost his control.


Hajara Khatun, 75, Sadhrul Miya, 61, Sahija Miya, 28, Mohommad Hamid, 35, Sahipun Khatun, 40, Ambika BK, 32, and Ashok BK, 11, were injured in the incident.

They are receiving treatment at District Hospital, Udayapar. Police have launched an investigation into the incident taking the ambulance driver into custody.


Likewise, another ambulance met with an accident at Gadhi rural municipality-2 in Sunsari injuring four people.


The ambulance (Sa 1 Jha 526) carrying a pregnant woman was en route to Biratnagar when it met with an accident. All four passengers were injured including pregnant Sabina Bastola. 


Bastola’s husband Khem Bahadur Bastola, 36, ambulance driver Sitaram Bastola, 28 and Nir Bahadur Pulami Magar were injured. They all are receiving treatment at Biratnagar based Hospital informed Police Office, Udayapur.
