Chakre Milan's gang continues vengeance

KATHMANDU, Feb 23: No later than 24 hours after they set a staffer of Habitat Housing Company on fire at Basundhara, the Chakre Milan gang on Wednesday assaulted Sanjeev Oli, one of the promoters of the company.



Oli was stabbed on his left arm at a tea shop at Shantinagar at around 7:45 am. He was rushed to Kantipur Hospital, which immediately referred him to B&B Hospital. [break]

Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu (MPRK) said the attack was another act of retribution against the company that had refused to fulfill the gang´s hefty extortion demand. The gang´s kingpin Milan Gurung has been serving sentence for drug and weapons trafficking at the Central Jail.



MPRK added that the person who fled the scene after stabbing Oli has been identified.



Meanwhile, Police has arrested nine persons including two girls in connection with the Tuesday´s incident.



According to the police, the gang has resorted to extreme measures after the company refused to pay them 15 percent of the total investment amount.



Yadav Silwal, the company staffer who was set on fire on Tuesday morning, was saved luckily as the police had reached the scene on time.
