KATHMANDU, Nov 21: The BP Highway will remain closed daily from 9 PM to 4 AM starting Wednesday night.

The repair work is focused on sections such as Chaukidanda, Narke Bazaar, and the stretch from Kaldhunga (Bhyakure Khola) to Mamti Khola. Authorities have requested vehicles to avoid using the highway during the designated hours until further notice.
Restrictions also remain in place on the BP Highway section from Chaukidanda in Kavrepalanchok to Barkhekhola in Sindhuli. This stretch had been temporarily reopened for one-way traffic after being damaged by floods and landslides in mid-September. The nighttime travel ban continues due to the risk of dry landslides in the area.
Senior Divisional Engineer Suman Yogesh explained that the temporarily constructed road cannot be reopened fully because of persistent landslide risks. Since mid-October, an alternative track has been constructed, permitting passenger buses and small vehicles to operate under strict permits.
The BP Highway is a vital route connecting Kathmandu to eastern Nepal, with thousands of vehicles using it daily.
