TANAHUN, Nov 18: The Deurali road section along the Prithvi Highway will be closed daily for four and a half hours starting today. This closure, lasting 20 days, affects the entry point of Byas Municipality-12 in Tanahun.
The closure aims to expedite the construction work on the Deurali road section under the Mugling-Pokhara road project. Vehicular traffic will be halted until December 8. Bishnu Prasad Pandey, Engineer of the Mugling-Pokhara Road Project (Eastern Section), stated that the road section would remain closed in two phases.
According to Pandey, the road will be fully closed tonight from 11 pm to 1 am to facilitate construction. Traffic will briefly resume from 1 am to 1:30 am before being halted again from 1:30 am to 4 am. Emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass under special arrangements.

"To accelerate construction in the eastern section of the Mugling-Pokhara road project, the road will be completely closed to non-essential vehicles during the specified times,” said Pandey. He urged drivers to maintain lane discipline during the closure and to avoid overtaking when vehicles are queued.
The eastern section of the Mugling-Pokhara road project has achieved 68% progress. According to Pandey, 14 small bridges have been completed, along with two large bridges and 103 culverts. The bridge over the Madi River connecting Byas Municipality-4 and 5 is 45 percent complete.
The project agreement for the eastern section was signed on January 30, 2021, and work commenced on April 15, 2021. The contract was awarded to China Communication Construction, which has completed 68 percent of the roadwork to date.
