KATHMANDU, August 15: The Kohalpur-Surkhet section of the Ratna Highway, which was closed for about six hours, has reopened. After wild animals killed two people in the forest, the highway, which was closed by the victims with various demands, was opened after six and a half hours.
Padam Bahadur Bista, Superintendent of Police (SP), Surkhet, said that the closed highway was opened after the Bardiya National Park staff and administration agreed to the demands of the victims’ families. After agreeing with the victim to compensate the family of the deceased, the victims allowed the resumption of traffic on the highway.
