Lawmaker Bajgain withdraws his statement after an apology to Minister Pandey

Lawmaker Bajgain apologized for the harm caused to the concerned person and their family due to his statement.

KATHMANDU, Nov 20: Rajendra Bajgain, member of federal parliament of the Nepali Congress (NC), has apologized to Badri Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, for a statement he made that undermined the other party.


Bajgain wrote on social media, “I apologize for the harm caused to the concerned person and their family due to my statement.”

He had accused Pandey of taking millions of rupees in bribes while granting a license to a casino. Following that, Minister Pandey filed a complaint at the party’s Central Disciplinary Committee and the Parliamentary Party, claiming that Lawmaker Bajgain has made various unfounded allegations against him on social media platforms. 


Similarly, Anand Dhungana and NC General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma Sharma summoned Bajgain to the committee and sought an explanation.


Following the statement with the committee, lawmaker Bajgain apologized on Facebook and X, stating that he retracted his earlier statement.
