NC’s Bhul elected chief of Kailali DCC unopposed

Tika Kumari Chaudhary Bhul of the Nepali Congress has been elected unopposed as the chief of the District Coordination Committee (DCC), Kailali.

KAILALI, Nov 20: Tika Kumari Chaudhary Bhul of the Nepali Congress has been elected unopposed as the chief of the District Coordination Committee (DCC), Kailali. Bhul was elected unopposed after Rupmati Dagaura Tharu of the Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) withdrew her candidacy for the post.


According to Premraj Bhatta, head of the Sudurpaschim Province Election Office, Bhul was elected unopposed after Tharu withdrew her candidacy at 12:30 pm on Wednesday. “The time for withdrawing nominations was from 9 am to 1 pm on Wednesday,” Bhatta said.

Tharu withdrew her candidacy for the post in the presence of leader of the organization department of the NUP Lakshman Kishore Chaudhary, Tikapur’s mayor Ramlal Dangoura Tharu, and the chairman of Kailali chapter of the Nepali Congress Narayan Datta Bhatt.


The by-election for the post was scheduled to be held on December 1 after Padam Bahadur Kalel, who won the post of the chief of District Coordination Committee of Kailali from Nepali Congress in the last local level election passed away on January 7, 2023.
