RATNANAGAR, July 26: The three-wheeler drivers, who were staging a demonstration against the decision of the administration to bar them from the highway, have called off their protest program.
The protest was called off following a five-point agreement reached at an all-side discussion held at the initiative of acting Chief District Officer Laxmi Prasad Banskota on Wednesday evening.

As per the agreement, the three-wheelers will be allowed to follow the route as maintained earlier by the Bharatpur metropolis that includes 18 crossing points, according to press advisor of the metropolis Suresh Chandra Adhikari. A task force has also been formed under the leadership of deputy Mayor Parbati Shah to look into any further issues concerning the route and of the three-wheeler operators.
Taking over the issue, the three-wheelers staged a demonstration and clashed with police on Wednesday. Mahendra Sunar, who sustained bullet injuries, will receive treatment under the coordination of the metropolis and the District Administration Office. A total of 19 persons including 15 security persons were injured in the incident.
The Bharatpur metropolis had taken a decision on July 21 to bar the three-wheelers from the major roads of Bharatpur. RSS
